Pregnancy Photography

Shooting a pregnancy session of my wonderful friend Blanka was a lot of fun. She arrived at the studio with a full suitcase of stuff and looked absolutely amazing.
I sent these images to Blanka yesterday and was waiting for her reaction. Blanka loved the photos. As a matter of fact she liked them so much that she went into labor and had to go to the hospital while I was about to blog about them.
Blogging had to wait – I had more important things to do. So I grabbed my camera and quickly drove to Stanford hospital. (Before that, Sam had to calm me down a little and remind me that I’m not the one in labor.) Driving on the freeway in the middle of the night had its perks. I think I passed only a couple of cars on the way there and back. I got there on time and was both nervous and excited to be there to support my friend and also document this special moment. Baby Leon was born around 1:30 in the morning and was just adorable. I can’t wait to do a baby session with him in the studio.
I finally got to bed at 5am with a huge grin on my face. I think I won’t stop smiling for a while. What an amazing experience this was.
Blanka is a fabulous cook so we had to do some photos in her chef outfit that she got for Christmas from her husband Helge.
I just adore these dancing photos of Blanka. We had so much fun playing with this black robe thingy. It flowed behind her so beautifully. I now have it my my studio so we can try this with other hot mamas too. Yey!
